One year today.
They were wed.

Time trickles by,
like water in
a summer stream.

Then, all of a sudden
the rain begins to fall
the stream turns
into a torrent.

All of a sudden
a year has gone.

A year of life.
A year of love.

Sun shines over me, no matter where I am

Standing tall on the mountain top
the wind to my back,
my hair blowing wild.

Setting sun shines bright
as I watch boats on the silver sea
and think of far away places.

Under the blue sky are clouds
like my smile, hiding tears
and my laugh disguising fears.

The sun continues shining
and the wind it goes on blowing
as I watch and as I dream.

lily number two

Blooming, you fill the room
with your voice,
your scent.

The light is fading
but you are bright.

I sit, quietly
watching
and listening
as you unfold
your day to me
as if I had been there
all along.

lily number one

They awaited with patience
for my arrival
like you did,
that night I was late.

I apologised. To you
and to the lilies.

They were white
but the night was black
and as dark as an
empty heart.

As we talked (you didn't mind that I was late -
it was only 5 minutes, you said)
I realised
I loved you.

Good News

Some moment of grey rain is lifted
by the words of this girl so sweet.

Her giggles sparkle down the line,
filled with audible happiness.
My grinning heart is filled with joy.

The world is bright through her
beautiful blue eyes, widely smiling.

The blaze

The blaze of setting sun
shines bright through tall trees.

Walking slowly we listen
to the dry crackle of leaves.

Birds sing with voices loud
in the damp and darkening air.

We can hear their songs echo
bouncing on the brightly lit path.

A far cry from the city chaos
from which we have come.

This moment of mine

With hat and bag
she sets out across the faded shore
towards a destination of excitement
to match her sparkling bag of silver stars.
